Welcome to Baywind Energy Community Trust
Baywind Energy Community Trust (BWECT) is a registered charity based in Cumbria that has supported local charities, schools and individuals in energy saving and educational initiatives since 1999.
BWECT uses income generated by Cumbria's own community-owned renewable energy. Five wind turbines sit on Harlock Hill and neighbouring Mean Moor outside Ulverston - these are owned by High Winds Community Energy Society and BWECT distribute a share of their generation income each year back into the community. Priority is given to those individuals and organisations located in close proximity to the wind farm.
